Crassula ovata (Jade Plant) is a popular, low-maintenance succulent featuring thick, woody stems and glossy, fleshy green leaves often tinged with red. As a slow-growing evergreen shrub native to South Africa, it is commonly kept indoors for its bonsai-like appearance and long lifespan.

  • Foliage: The leaves are succulent, oval-shaped (ovate), 1 to 3.5 inches long, and arranged in opposite pairs.
  • Structure: It develops a thick, woody trunk with age, resembling a miniature tree or bonsai.
